Thromboplastic and fibrinolytic activity of the human aorta.

چکیده
]n the thronibogenic theory of the pathogenesis of arteriosclerotic lesions, parietal fibrin deposits in the arteries play a primary role. In an effort to elucidate the heinostatic system in the arterial wall, the thromboplastic activity and the fibrinolytic activity (estimated as plasminogcn activator) in the layers of the human aorta have been estimated. The simultaneous presence of high thromboplastic activity and little or no fibrinolytic activity found in the intiiua and the media suggest that fibrin can easily be deposited after tissue injury and that its eventual removal depends upon the humoral fibrinolytic system in the circulating blood. The observations apparently support the thrombogenic theory.

Thromboplastic and Fibrinolytic Activities in Vessels of Animals.
• Deposition of fibrin on the interior wall of arteries is assumed to constitute an etiological factor in the pathogenesis of arteriosclerosis." This concept was supported when normal human aortic intima was found highly thromboplastic with no, or only traces of, fibrinolytic activity.' This observation suggested an easy deposition of fibrin after intimal injury followed by delay of removal. Fu...
متن کاملRelease of a thromboplastic substance from arterial walls by epinephrine.
• Tissue extracts from the wall of the aorta of man and rabbit, and especially from the internal portion of the wall, contain a substance having thromboplastic activity. The physiological significance of this substance is unknown, but evidence to be given below indicates that epinephrine, in physiological concentrations, will release a substance having thromboplastic activity from the walls of ...
متن کاملIdentification of Fibrinolytic Activity in Iranian Vipera Lebetina Venom
Background and purpose: Vipera lebetina lives in different areas in Iran, and its venom contains a variety of proteins with coagulant and anticoagulant activities. Fibrinolytic enzymes could have a therapeutic role in dissolution of blood clots, so, this study aimed at separating the venom components of Iranian V. lebetina and detecting its anticoagulant activity. Materials and methods: In thi...
متن کاملStudy of garlic effect on fibrinolytic activity of the blood clot in vitro
Abstract Introduction The main function of the fibrinolytic system is to dissolve fibrin clots in circulation. This system is composed of inactive precursor plasminogen which can be converted into plasmin by the proteolytic enzymes like tissue-type plasminogen activator (tPA). Fibrinolytic properties can be found in a variety of medicine plants and they could effectively prevent cardiovascula...
متن کاملAnalysis of essential oil components from four food spices and determination of their in vitro fibrinolytic activity
Introduction: Atherothrombotic diseases such as myocardial or cerebral infarction are serious consequences of the thrombus formation in blood vessels. Thrombolytic agents are used to dissolve the already formed clots in the blood vessels. However, these drugs have certain adverse effects, which cause serious and sometimes fatal consequences. Methods: Plants essential oils were prepared and ...
